SIMULAA
Melbourne, AU
Simulaa is an architecture practice based in Melbourne/Naarm established by architects Anna Jankovic and Andre Bonnice in 2020, with an emphasis on cultural and place-specific projects. The work of the practice is defined by considered analysis and a research-based approach that prioritises critical experimentation. Simulaa’s projects have been recognised for their contributions to architectural discourse and research through inclusion in the second edition of Melbourne Now that will take place at the Ian Potter Centre: NGV in 2023, the 2022 AA Unbuilt Prize for the shortlisted 2021 NGV Architecture Commission project ‘Gas Stack’, and winner of the TAB2022 Installation Competition for the Tallinn Architecture Biennale in Estonia.
Directors Anna and Andre are actively engaged in research and teaching, around adaptive and resilient architecture that explores cultural, historical and time-based design thinking, and architecture and infrastructural systems that look to disrupt prevailing energy and waste paradigms.
